INTEGRATION WITH A COBOT AND ROTARY STAGE
SMARTTECH3D CobotScan is a 3D scanner specifically designed for integration with cobots and for measurements using a rotary stage module. The unique design of the scanning head, featuring a stereoscopic camera system, ensures lightweight construction. These features guarantee the highest level of user comfort, simplify hardware integration, and enable high-quality mapping of complex geometric objects.
The use of a collaborative robot enables straightforward automation of the measurement process, eliminating the need to affix markers on objects and increasing efficiency even with small batches of scanned products. The software functionality allows for the creation of automatic control reports and documentation, as well as displaying a map of deviations directly on the measured object for easy defect identification. Due to eliminating the human factor, the resulting measurements are repeatable and of the highest quality.
The measuring station is managed by the SMARTTECH3Dmeasure software installed on an efficient workstation. This dedicated software controls the entire measurement process, starting from monitoring operating system parameters to saving the obtained 3D model and the finished quality control report in a PDF file. Additionally, the application allows for numerous processes, such as transforming the point cloud into advanced 3D models or the automated generation of reports. Moreover, the software includes an automatic quality control module. An easy-to-use interface enables users to create measurement plans and edit results based on specific needs.
